Madie, Noel and Mignon here, drumroll please ..... let us introduce you to our friend Honeypie admiring our Mommy's Glass Art and if that isn't enough please do admire Honeypie's Mom's beautiful Artwork in our home! Beth Appleton is Honeypie's Mom and is the most creative sculptural paper artist anywhere! You needn't go far to admire Beth's awe inspiring work in homes and public places everywhere! Just look right here www.bethappleton.net/
The three of us might not know much about art but we do know what makes our Mommy happy, that is having wonderful friends like Beth and David and being surrounded by beauty. PS: this was a trade between the artists some years ago!

Shameless promotion of my blog! Read on!

Here is my wonderful new Diamond embroidery machine working on a gobble, gobble design! I have a proposition for you my dear friends: If you post a comment on my blog by Oct. 30th and you are on my personal mailing list I will send you something embroidered by Thanksgiving Day! NOW, if you also become a follower of my blog I will not only send a lovely gift for Thanksgiving but also one for Christmas! I know you have been checking it out but I have been waiting and waiting for comments and followers! Maybe I can bribe you!
Remember the criteria: you must already be my friend on my personal mailing list, you must leave a comment by Oct. 30th, not an email, telephone call or snail mail. You needn't leave your full name, just identify yourself in some way.
Hugs, A.

Wall of Fiber Art by Carol Lahm Sloane

And here in a seperate post are my much loved and used Fiber Art Handbags by Carol Lahm Sloan mentioned in the previous posting. Carol is now a painter and just as talented in that genre. Many of you have admired her bags for years, well they will always be part of my home and not just a closet! Carol lives in Maine and she just bought a house in the Newfoundland Foursquare style in Nova Scotia that needs restoration, as a second home. You go Carol!

Carol's Garden

Many moons ago when I traveled the world ( it seemed like that!) one of my fellow artists and friends asked me to make some stained glass panels for her in trade for her exquisite fiber art. I already owned many of her beautiful handcrafted purses and this trade allowed me to own one of her carry-ons. These are the six small windows I made for her, she was very much involved in the design process. But then I couldn't leave well enough alone and many years later I recreated all six panels in one panel. I won some awards and it finally found it's way over to the Nancy Markoe Gallery in St. Petersburg Beach, Fl where it was sold. The original six panels live in Maine, my fellow artist/friend is now a painter and the large panel entitled "Carol's Garden" is somewhere in Florida I assume and I hope it is much loved.

Orchids, orchids everywhere!

Couldn't resist sharing the beauty of my orchids. They last for weeks and weeks. Lots of times I share them with friends down the street. We have had a rainy summer, therefore they are blooming a lot. The ones on the tree I attached with liquid nails years ago and they sure do like it there! Can you find the bulldogs?!

To Florida with Love

The original or should I say first panel by this title was inspired by my visit with a sketchpad in hand to our very own Erna Nixon Park in Melbourne, Florida. A stroll thru this mystical, truly Florida native plant site with it's towering trees can't help but leave one inspired and come away from it appreciating the beauty of undisturbed Florida lands. The panel shown is No. 7 in the series and resides in a private entrance as a door installation.
